šŸŽ™ļø Easy Ways to Automate Your Sales Pitch

Reader I wasnā€™t planning on writing about automation so soon, but the last article got a ton of great feedback (mostly from my friends, but nonetheless)

so Iā€™m back with some ways to talk about your offers on demand.

Do they even know how to start?

First things firstā€¦you canā€™t complain that nobody buys if you make it really hard for people to even know what you sell. Behind every overly-obsessed, perfectly-crafted headline, there is actually a super simple formula:

WANT [insert results], then BUY [insert program name + link to buy]

The First Rule of Selling on Autopilot is to let everybody (and their mothers) know what you sell or your expertiseā€¦Coca Cola doesnā€™t make people watch a 2-hour webinar to learn they sell sodas, why should you?

*Note: Iā€™m not saying you should slap a link to your $10K coaching program and expect sales, but it shouldnā€™t be a secret that you help people with X,Y, Z and what the first step to know more about it is.

Here are some places I guarantee you donā€™t have your offers linked (I donā€™t have it either šŸ˜‚but fixing it right away):

  • Facebook covers (profile, page, groups)
  • All social media profiles (including the ones you never use like X)
  • Blog (sidebar, main page, widgets)
  • Podcast show notes
  • Youtube video description
  • LinkedIn ā€˜featuredā€™
  • Website footer and in every page
  • Pinterest profile and pins

Wanna automate sales? Focus on automating the sales conversations, not your tech.

Second Rule of Automatic Sales - be ready to ā€˜talkā€™ whenever people want to hear about your program, so here are some quick ways to walk people through the purchase decision when they need:

Show & Tell

Automated webinars (or video presentations) are a great way to show what your process is like, to show results, teach a hackā€¦even if you are not into the traditional hour long pitch-fest (Iā€™m not either) having visual communication on demand will help establish trust faster than any other way.

I use EasyWebinar to host on demand webinars, Descript to record/edit quickly and Youtube private videos if Iā€™m embedding on my sales page.

Also, donā€™t feel you need to create a formal masterclassā€¦any type of video training or ā€˜behind-the-scenesā€™ works great on auto. I personally like video masterclasses as a ā€˜surprise freebieā€™ inside your sales emails or on your sales page.

And speaking of automated emailsā€¦

Write a Letter (or Eleven)

You might be tired of sales emails, but people who register to know more about your offers are likely sitting there waiting to hear all about itā€¦

Just tell them!

With all due respect for the people who write cutesy, friendly, extra long emailsā€¦donā€™t make people wait to learn how you can help them, they just want the problem solved!

On any automatic email sequence we have at least the following emails:

  • Announcement: what you offer, whatā€™s in it, where to learn more/buy it
  • Future Self: how they will feel, look or do after going through your offer
  • The Guide: whatā€™s the process, framework or method you use to give them the results
  • Special Offer: incentive to have them buy and start working on it today
  • Not For Unicorns: main question they are asking themselvesā€¦ā€˜will it work for me?ā€™ write a full letter explaining how they are ready for it (or what they need to do to get ready)
  • FAQs: fire up the most asked questions, chances are they are thinking about that too.
  • The Mirror: fill an email with testimonials, case studies, your own storyā€¦anything that helps them see themselves after the process.
  • Opportunity Cost: be very specific about what they are losing by not fixing the problem you solve. People ā€˜kinda knowā€™ but you have to spell it out
  • The Money Talk: money will always be a concern so make sure you give them the best offer possible through your sequence. It can be a discount, an extended payment plan or a bonus that will help them make money/solve a separate issue.
  • Talk to Me: some people will actually need more connection so have a way to reply back, DM you or even book a call if you can.
  • All Good Things Come To An End: even in evergreen (your program is always open for sale) we always create a mini deadline to decide.

All this is done completely on autopilot inside my ConvertKit sequences.
I write the emails once, send them to 100 people, look at the stats and then make improvements šŸ™‚

Good Tip: Donā€™t forget to filter out people who purchase during the sequence - nothing more annoying than to keep receiving sales emails when you already bought it šŸ™‚

Putting your sales on autopilot might seem ā€˜self-servingā€™ (and it sort of is) but it is also having hundreds or thousands of conversations at the same time WHENEVER YOUR PEOPLE WANT OR NEED ITā€¦

it's called GREAT SERVICE in my book and I'm here for it, every single day šŸ˜‚
